PODCAST GROWTH EXPERIMENT

Product Marketing Adventures is a podcast about real product marketing work, not just theory. Elle Grossenbacher hosts conversations with PMMs about the campaigns and decisions behind their work.

During my 12-week Growth PMM apprenticeship, I planned and ran an organic promotion experiment for Product Marketing Adventures.

How I chose the experiment

I reviewed the podcast data, promotion channels and current strategy. LinkedIn had the highest engagement and Elle’s account performed best. I asked Elle about her goal for the podcast, whether she planned to monetize it and whether she wanted to change the content. Her answers helped me narrow down my hypothesis to distribution instead of the podcast itself. I also researched how to grow B2B podcasts and found that a common recommendation is to promote each episode 3–4 times using different content formats, which felt like a strong opportunity for my growth experiment.

3-4posts per episode

My hypothesis was that posting more often and using varied formats would extend discovery beyond launch day.

Content I created for the experiment

I wrote the episode promotion narratives and created content across video, carousel and text.

To make the carousel work repeatable, I built a Codex skill that turns a full transcript into a complete, publication-ready LinkedIn carousel.

A lot of marketers and PMMs tell us they don’t know their point of differentiation.

And even if you do know, leveraging it is a separate challenge.

So here’s the playbook from Collin Mayjack, the PMM who landed an 80% win rate against Gong as the Founding PMM at Sybill.

The Codex carousel skill I built.

It takes the podcast transcript, pulls out the practical playbook and turns it into a ready-to-publish, on-brand LinkedIn carousel.

Early signals

The experiment is still running.

So far, we have seen some early signals that the experiment could be working, such as Days 2–7 downloads increasing by 16% and first-week downloads increasing by 4%. Since the experiment has only run three times, I want to continue running it across more episodes.
